It gives me great pleasure to welcome Mr. Thomas Wan to the UIA Sports & Leisure WP.  Please see a brief profile on Mr. Wan below:

Mr. Thomas Wan is a Senior Architect in Architectural Services Department. He graduated from Cambridge University and joined the Department in 1995. His best known projects, the Stanley Municipal Services Building and the Ping Shan Tin Shui Wai Leisure & Cultural Building, were awarded the HKIA Building of the Year in 2006 & 2011 respectively. These two projects also received the International Architectural Awards (IAA) in 2014, the Grand Award for Green Building Award (GBA) 2008 and the Finalist of 6 for World Architectural News (WAN) Awards in UK in 2011. Mr. Wan’s other projects including the Fanling Open Space and the Stanley Waterfront which received a number of recognition including the HKIA President Prize 2003 and the HKIA Award on Urban Design 2008 as well as the Overall Winner in the HK Public Space Award 2013. His latest project, the Community Green Station in Shatin and in HK East received the Highly Commended in the World Architectural Festival (WAF) Award 2015, Good Design Award Top 100 in Japan 2015, Urban Land Institute (ULI) Global Awards for Excellence 2016, as well as the HKIA President Prize in 2015 and 2016 respectively. 

Thomas also serves as a member of Advisory Committee on the Appearance of Bridges and Associated Structures (ACABAS) in Hong Kong since 2012.
